My hometown of Polo is located in Ogle County,
in the state of Illinois,
in the USA. This booming metropolis has about 2600 people, a
grocery store, a handful of bars and not a single stoplight.
This web page is extremely old, and probably very outdated. If you want
more accurate information, check someplace such as Wikipedia.
But as far as I know, this was the first web page ever created for Polo,
IL, so I don't want to delete it.
The exact location of Polo is 41.985 north latitude, 89.578 west
longitude. Or, for something more meaningful, check out the map below.
Polo is the red star in the middle. (The map came from
MapQuest, many years ago.)
Another way of finding Polo is to:
- get a map of Illinois
- draw a line from Woosung to Haldane
- draw a line from Hazelhurst to Stratford
- find where the lines cross - you'll find Polo!
If this method makes complete sense to you, it means you probably
have lived in or near Polo at some time in your life.

Polo Community High
School, home of the Marcos. (You might be
wondering what a 'Marco' is. Well, there's a good chance you've heard
of a famous Italian explorer. He's called Marco Polo. Were from
Polo, and called the Marcos. Get it?)
Aplington School,
the middle school
